AMANDA DAVIS

Amanda has always been interested in the big questions in life and wanted to be of service to others as a long-term path. Amanda began her career as a Physiotherapist in Sydney before traveling to work in the UK. When she returned home she began work in Private Practice and very quickly realised that there was much more to health and healing that she had been taught at University. This sparked her interest in nutrition and her studies in Kinesiology, whilst opening her own Private Practice Back In Balance Physiotherapy in Collaroy, Sydney. The focus of her practice was to “treat the whole person” and was an early adopter of holistic nutrition principles and kinesiology techniques in a Physiotherapy Practice.

Amanda has since relocated to the Byron Bay Shire and has completed her GAPS Certification. This allows her to incorporate gut health, detox and lifestyle change into her sessions. Amanda’s main passion now is with chronic pain and disease and her mission is to support her clients on their journey towards vibrant health, self-connection, balance and wellbeing with her unique skill set.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy uses a variety of techniques to help your body move and function at its full potential. In order to prevent a range of problems and diseases, and to improve quality of life, physiotherapists encourage and assist  people of all ages to participate in safe physical activity.

They work in partnership with their patients to educate them on how to manage their own health. They assist people with movement disorders which may have been present from birth, acquired through accident or injury, or are the result or ageing or life changing events.

Physiotherapists are trained to assess your condition, diagnose the problem, and help you understand the condition and manage your health.

The following are common treatment methods physiotherapists may use:

  • Exercise programs to improve mobility and strengthen muscles.

  • Joint manipulation and mobilisation to reduce pain and stiffness and increase range of movement.

  • Muscle re-education to improve control, clearance techniques and breathing exercises.

Kinesiology

Kinesiology uses gentle muscle-monitoring techniques to access the subconscious mind and gain accurate information about your current issues and what is needed to help your body, mind and spirit to restore balance.

Through this modality, profound changes may be experienced emotionally, mentally and physically, thereby increasing a person’s health and wellbeing. When our system is functioning well, we feel well.

The real goal of any Kinesiology ‘balance’ is to identify the bottomline cause of any imbalance and then resolve it. It may be nutritional, emotional, structural, psychological, energetic or even spiritual.

The following are common treatment methods kinesiologists may use:

  • Gentle rubbing, holding or tapping acupressure points

  • Movement, breath work and physical releases

  • Strengthening systems with wholefood nutrition

Certified GAPS Practitioner (Gut & Psychology Syndrome)

The GAPS diet is a comprehensive healing protocol developed by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, a neurologist and nutritionist who specializes in healing of issues like autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, dyspraxia, dyslexia and schizophrenia by treating the root cause of many of these disorders: compromised gut health.

While it may seem strange or even unbelievable that neurological disorders like autism can be mitigated or even addressed through dietary changes, families that have been dissatisfied by currently available treatments have flocked to the GAPS diet, and many have experienced recovery.

The GAPS Nutritional protocol is:

  • Diet

  • Supplementation

  • Detoxification
